Southsiders: Portrait of a Community
Project Manager
Apr 2013 - Oct 2013
Following a recommendation by this project’s fundraiser Lucy Brown of Ranch Projects, I project managed an expansive site-specific photography project in Edinburgh’s Southside for The Causey Development Trust, a volunteer-led charity transforming an urban space through inspiring community arts. The work featured 32 striking portraits of Southsiders taken by internationally recognised photographer Peter Dibdin.
The project was funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund alongside charitable trusts and local businesses, and I co-ordinated the resulting outdoor exhibition, a free special edition publication designed by German artist and art director Janine Sack, pavement art designed and produced by international artist Tom Barnett, plus launch and closing events giving participants, supporters and members of the community the chance to come together to explore the project and its impact.
