Scottish Kids Are Making Movies
Mentor and Board Member
May 2009 - Mar 2012
Based in Filmhouse Edinburgh, Scottish Kids are Making Movies (SKAMM) was a charity all about inspiring and nurturing the creative filmmaking talent of 12-18 year olds by providing access to a regular group production activity led by industry professionals and mentors. As a SKAMMer in my teens, I had benefited hugely from working with the group's inspirational and energetic founders - filmmaker Mark Cousins and film education queen Shiona Wood - so it was an honour to give something back. During this period, under the tutelage (and through the incredible energy) of filmmaker, educator and force of nature, Sandie Jamieson, the SKAMM filmmakers were nominated for a prestigious BFI First Light Award.
