Glasgow Life: Creative Communities
Artist in Residence
Mar 2019 - July 2019
Successful in pitching to be one of 23 artists delivering Phase 1 of an extensive community engagement process across the city of Glasgow.
Glasgow Life's Creative Communities is a citywide programme which aims to elicit views from local people about how to improve health, wellbeing, confidence and quality of life throughout the city by strengthening local links with arts and culture. Take a look at the Phase 1 final report.
I worked with communities in the electoral ward of Langside researching the heritage of the socially diverse area, sharing my research with local audiences and groups, and encouraging residents to challenge the preconceptions made about their ward and to share their own valuable thoughts on ambitions and needs for their community.
Together we co-designed proposals for cultural activity that would have an impact on the health and wellbeing of the ward. A website outlining the research and proposals is coming soon.
