Consultant Specialist

Jun 2018 - Aug 2022

In early 2018, the British Film Institute (BFI) Film Audience Network wanted to build on the success of the three-year UK-wide project Britain on Film to develop a four-year programme continuing to facilitate access to moving image archives for cinemas and exhibitors across the country.  I was contracted by lead organisation Anna Kime of Film Hub North along with Invisible Women archive activist (and one of our former students on the MSc in Film Exhibition and Curation) Rachel Pronger to develop a draft four-year strategy, plan and budget which formed the basis of the final programme of the cross-FAN Screen Heritage Programme, Changing Times.

I have since been invited on to the Curatorial Advisory Group for Screen Heritage as a specialist in screen heritage exhibition. Meeting quarterly, balancing preservation and access is imperative and it’s exciting to participate in conversations and contribute to planning with colleagues in archives around the UK by representing the independent exhibition sector.
